Showcase! (My first!)

So things have been a little crazy around here recently, especially seeing as Mothers Day creeping up on us rather quickly!

And what do I do when things get crazy?? Well the answer is simple – I add to the crazi-ness by joining in my first Facebook Showcase!

So I joined a lovely group of ladies from the Collective Artisans. And I made a beautiful pink owl for the Sugar And Spice Showcase.

Owl Doorstop featured in the Collective Artisan Showcase via Facebook.

The showcase opened this morning – and it has sold already! I’m so excited!

I definitely recommend you pop over and have a little look at what else is on offer – as there is some amazing handmade items there. And tomorrow morning their second showcase will open. That one is themed – Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails!

I didn’t enter into the second one as I wasn’t sure how I’d go. Now I wish I did!

Thanks for stopping by!

My New Crafty Business

For the last 5 or so years I have run my own little handmade business, (House of Nicnax) making owl doorstops! I must admit that the ‘owl’ craze has hung around longer than I could ever imagined! Never did I think that my little hobby would turn into a business and that I would be selling regularly at markets, online and through Facebook!

It really has been a crazy little ride for me! I have enjoyed it so much along the way – and I don’t have plans to stop anytime soon! While people love and want my owls – I will continue to make them!

But in saying that – It was time I expanded a little.

Back in July I started to sell crafting supplies as well. I love being able to buy a whole range of gorgeous supplies, and sell them to amazingly clever people to create some awesome handmade items!

As of last weekend, I took a huge step. I decided to make the “supplies” my new business! So now I run TWO businesses!!!

So now I would like to officially introduce you to ……….The Little Craft House

The Little Craft House. Craft Supplies in Australia. Wood beads, scrabble tiles, E6000 glue

My sales for TLCH will be through Ebay, however I have created a Facebook and Instagram account as well to promote any sales, new products and to hopefully share some of the clever creations people make!

I’d really appreciate it if you pop over and check them out!

So that’s about it for now. Lots of late nights ahead for me!

Wish me luck!

Happy crafting!

Getting Aussie – Handmade Love

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!!

Australia Day is a day we should be proud of our wonderful country, and all the amazing things that this country is made of.
Now this may sound terrible – but you know what I hate? I hate all the cheapy-made-overseas-tacky-Aussie-stuff.

Sure it’s fun (and cheap) but I’ve just had a quick look on Etsy, and found some handmade Australian Aussie Day awesomeness (and it’s still fun!) And, the best bit about supporting handmade – is that you won’t be wearing / decorating / eating the same as everyone else!

So if your heading out to celebrate our awesome country – please consider buying from Aussie makers!

Here’s my picks to share with you for this Australia Day’s edition of Handmade Love!

Owl doorstop – by House of Nicnax (that’s me!)

Edible cake toppers – by Zahari by Dina

Party Invites – by Sassaby Parties

Kids Button-Up Shirt – by Miss Hanna Designs

Bandana Bib – by Sleepy Hedgehog 4 Baby

Hair Bow – By Pixie Bluebell Designs

Bunting – by The Bunting Shoppe

Shoe Bows – by Bouquet By Rosa Loren

I hope these great products have inspired you to support our great makers!

If you have been busy making Australia Day items – please leave me a link in the comments!
